Our club meets monthly during Pride Time to discuss upcoming service activities in our school and community. Students volunteer in various activities focusing on youth, the environment, education, the elderly, and other causes in the community.

Link Crew

Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, Boomerang Project’s proven high school transition program trains mentors from your junior and senior classes to be Link Crew Leaders. As positive role models, Link Crew Leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school and help facilitate freshman success.

More and more studies show that if students have a positive experience in their first year in high school, their chance for success increases dramatically. Link Crew provides the structure for freshmen to receive support and guidance from juniors and seniors who have been through the challenges that high school poses, and understand that the transition to a larger school can sometimes be overwhelming.

Musings Literary Magazine

Students are invited to submit poems and short stories throughout the year until the end of February for a chance to be published in the South Central Conference Literary Magazine, Musings. The poems and stories are then read by an English teacher from each school in the conference. Pieces are selected by mid-March and the student will receive an All-Conference certificate and two copies of the book if selected. Here is a link to the online version of the Musings magazine and an archive of some of the previous magazines printed since 2008.'

National Honors Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.

Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in NHS activities. NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. territories, and Canada. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.
