Juneau County Transition Advisory Council
Transition Advisory Councils (TAC's) provide collaborative transition planning at the county level. "Collaborative transition planning refers to the cooperative and coordinated efforts by all potential service providers to plan and implement school-based, home-based and community-based learning opportunities for the learner to promote that individual's life success during and after high school." (Collet-Klingenberg, 1999)
TAC's often consist of representatives from school districts, School-To-Work, County Departments of Human/Social Services, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, parents, community businesses, Workforce Investment Act, WI Workforce Development Boards, WI Technical College System representatives, parent advocacy groups, County Development Disabilities Boards, County Mental Health personnel, local college, and university representatives, corrections officers, employers, tribal representatives and youth with disabilities.
