Bus Traffic Flow and Student Pickup at Grayside Avenue Campus

For all families who drop off and pick up their students at the main campus:

  • West Side Elementary/Mauston Montessori
  • Grayside Elementary/Lemonweir Academy
  • Olson Middle School
  • Mauston High School/iLEAD Charter School

We ask that all parent/drivers remain in their cars they drop-off and pick-up as smooth as possible. At no time are the parking lots to be used to drop-off or pick-off your student(s). This is for the safety of your students, please use only the designated driving lanes. Also for yours and students' safety, the speed limit is 10mph.

Mauston High School/iLEAD Charter School Families

  • Drop-off:
    • Please enter the parking lot off Grayside Avenue on the far west side of the building. The traffic loop is solely for the high school, and does not connect to the other driving lane/parking lot for the other buildings.
    • If you have students in multiple buildings, you may use the pattern as described above for Grayside and Olson Middle School.
  •  Pick-up:
    • Students are dismissed at approximately 3:20 p.m. and may proceed to the pick-up lane in front of the High School.
    • Do not park in the staff/visitor/student parking lots solely to pick up your child(ren). Please stay in the loop in front of Mauston High School only.

Grayside Families, Lemonweir Academy Families, and West Side Families

All cars will enter from Highway G (behind the high school) and follow the road all the way to the loop between the two elementary buildings.

Drop-off

  • Students will not be able to enter the buildings before 7:30am.
  • There is a designated lane in front of the schools to drop off students.

Pick-Up

  • Elementary students will be dismissed at approximately 3:15 p.m. and will come to their parent’s vehicles.
  • Parents – please stay in your vehicles and do not gather in front of the buildings to wait for your child. If you need to assist your child at your vehicle, you may park along the sidewalk, wait for your child and assist them at your vehicle.
  • At no time will students be allowed to walk in the staff/visitor parking lot nor will parents be allowed to park there for pick up and drop off. This is for the safety of all students and staff.

Olson Middle School Families

  • Drop-Off:
    • Students may not enter the building before 7:30 a.m.
    • For families with OMS students ONLY, please continue to use the existing parking lot on the east side of the OMS building for drop-off.
    • For families with students in multiple buildings, cars will enter off Grayside Avenue and proceed around the loop.
    • Students can be dropped off on the sidewalk by the District Office and proceed to the entry doors.
    • There will be NO parking in the drop-off lane to assist your child. If you feel you must exit your vehicle to assist your child, we ask that you park in the parking lot to do so in order to avoid traffic back-up.
    • Please use extreme caution because, just for this year, the buses and vehicles will be sharing the drop off lane.
  • Pick-up:
    • Whenever possible, please use the east side of the building for pick-up, especially if you ONLY have a student in OMS.
    • Vehicles may park at the designated spot on the enclosed map no earlier than 3:15 p.m. so there is sufficient room for the buses to pass the vehicles. In past years, people began to line up as early as 2:15 p.m. to pick up their students. Again, please do not arrive before 3:15 p.m.
    • Once the buses exit the parking lot at approximately 3:30 p.m., vehicles may proceed to the pickup areas closest to the schools (see map).
    • No vehicles are to be in the staff/visitor parking lot solely to pick up your child(ren). For the safety of the students, they will NOT be dismissed into the parking lot. You will need to be in the pick-up lane.
