Mauston teachers use a balanced assessment approach to both inform teaching and measure student progress. This includes a variety of assessment strategies in the classroom and a set of common assessments given at each grade level.

The District also administers several screening assessments throughout the year to measure student growth and mastery of grade level standards including:

• Fountas & Pinnell assessment of Reading K-5, given in fall, winter and spring
• i-Ready Reading and Mathematics Diagnostic K-8, given in fall, winter and spring
• ACT Aspire Periodic Assessments 9-10
