This is my sixteenth year teaching at Mauston High School, and I am looking forward to getting to know my students. I have a passion for reading and matching students with books that I know they’ll love. I recently earned my Teacher of Reading Certification and have gotten to start working with students at Mauston Montessori, who are just starting their reading journeys, and that has been an incredible experience for me, especially when I leave the kindergarten group and head back to the high school to teach College Writing to students who are at the end of their Mauston School District experience.
When I am not at school, I enjoy attending community events with my family, which includes my husband, Nick, and my kids, Caleb and Molly. I also like to be outdoors and to attend plays and concerts. Summer will find me attending at least two Renaissance Fairs and playing tabletop games with friends.

I use Google Classroom for most of my high school classes. Students receive a code on Day 1, and I am happy to add parents as a “parent” on their student’s Classroom account.
I also utilize Quill.com with freshmen and seniors to practice Grammar Skills. Those accounts are created through Google and are accessed through Classroom as well.
Open Office Times: The best time to reach me by phone is after 2:45 each day. I will likely respond to most emails after that time as well, though if there is an issue that requires a short response, I may be able to get to it sooner. I do check email throughout the day.
Coaching or Advisors as they apply: I enjoy working with students as they pursue their passions, and that has led me to advising several clubs and organizations. I am currently an advisor for Link Crew, National Honor Society, Academic Decathlon, and Forensics.
I also lead the Project LIT Book Club, which is a monthly book club that brings together students and community members to discuss books that explore themes that are contextually important to today’s world. Past selections have included Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds, and With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo.
