My Biography
I was born in Marinette, Wisconsin and at a very young age my family moved to Reedsburg where my parents were teachers. My father was the high school band teacher, and my mother was a second grade teacher at south school. During my years in Reedsburg my main focus was golf, while taking lessons at the Reedsburg country club. During my middle school years we moved to Menasha Wisconsin, where my father was the high school band teacher and my mother taught second grade at Hortonville Elementary. These were the years where I discovered the love for music and sports. I began playing the trumpet in 7th grade. By the end of my 7th grade year I was first chair trumpet. I was a starting forward for the basketball team, and starting offense and defensive tackle on the football team. I continued to play golf through these years for enjoyment. It was during these years that I developed a love for trumpet and jazz music. I started my music collection with 8 tracks and cassette tapes. During my high school years we moved to Clintonville Wisconsin where my dad became the middle school band director, and where I began the love of teaching and performing. During my high school years my focus turned to music and continuing with golf. Once I graduated for Clintonville high school in 1987 I went to UW-GB on a music scholarship, and I Graduated in 1993. Between all the performances such as wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, brass ensemble, and UW-GB pep band, I kept my foot in teaching during those years. I was a private trumpet teacher for the university and would teach summer school band during these years. After graduating from UW-GB I received a one year band position here at Mauston high school. . I am now in my 19th year here in Mauston and can't see myself ever leaving. In 2006 I received my masters degree, from UW-Lacrosse. I have been married for 11 years to my wife Leah and we have a 8 year old daughter named Annabell and a 3 year old son named Oscar.
